Maiken Stefany | Founder + CEO

Some say events run in her blood… and maybe they do. 

A Tampa native, Maiken Knight Stefany was born into a multi-generational family of event planners. After more than 15 years in the industry, Maiken launched Knightcap Events, an event management and consulting firm founded on the sole concept of good people doing good work.

Established in 2023, Knightcap Events specializes in all things live events – concept & creation, planning & management, logistics & site ops, and everything in-between. Maiken is best known for her role as Event Manager of some of Tampa’s favorite community events, noting her favorite part of event management is the opportunity to create lifelong memories for her clients and event guests.

In 2015, Maiken won the Florida Festivals & Events Association (FFEA) Emerging Leader Award. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the FFEA Executive Board as well as their Auction Chair & Hospitality Co-Chair. Her volunteer work continues as she also serves as a Board Member for Final Run Rescue, an animal rehab rescue in Western North Carolina, and a Hospitality Committee Member for the ReliaQuest Bowl.

Outside of work she can be found spending time with her husband Kevin, daughter Hendricks and their Mini Aussie, Nola.

Clara Barrow is an Event Coordinator at Knightcap Events. The Tampa native received her degree in Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management from the University of Florida and was drawn to a career in events because it provided an opportunity to set the scene for memories. She prioritizes doing everything to the best of her ability, specializes in developing efficient systems, and emphasizes clear communication in all facets of life.

A recent recipient of the Florida Festivals and Events Association (FFEA) Emerging Leader Scholarship following last years internship with the organization, Clara is looking forward to a long, happy career in the industry! 

The office pup for Knightcap Events, Nola aka Nola Pola.

This sweet pup is Maiken's 13 year old mini Aussie. She is an avid connoisseur of sweet potato treats and lounging around the office. Don't be surprised if the furriest member of our team paws her way into zoom meetings, she just loves saying hi!
